“I booked an appointment for 6:00. By 6:10 nobody was in the salon so I texted the stylist only to receive no response. Around 6:20 I called and she said she didn’t see the appointment. I thought she would have the decency to come to the salon after realizing she had a client but I was told she would not be coming. Absolutely terrible customer service. To make things worse i’ve already taken my hair out and I walked under the hot sun to get to my appointment.”

“Don’t even waste your time going here. The stylist can’t cut hair besides a blunt cut with some clippers. I asked for a trim of my layers and she had me walking around with a cut like I was homeless, until my usual hair lady could fix it. It’s funny now but in the moment I was so upset. She also can’t take criticism, or accept the fact that she was wrong. They also don’t do refunds.”

“I called I Am Keko the day before to confirm whether I needed an appointment and to get the price for a weave maintenance. I spoke with the owner in detail, explaining that I had four 26-inch bundles and that I needed a wash, to sit under the dryer, have my tracks tightened, and a silk press. She confirmed the salon hours and quoted me \$95 for the service, which I planned my schedule around. The salon opens at noon on Sundays, and I arrived at 11:30 to be the first client. At noon, no one was there. When I called, the owner told me the stylist would not arrive for another hour. This lack of punctuality and communication was unprofessional and frustrating. The stylist arrived at 1:00 PM, and we began the service. Near the end, she quoted me \$130, significantly higher than the \$95 I was originally promised. I want to be clear. I am not upset about the price being \$130. If that is the salon’s price, that is fine. My frustration is with being given a lower number to get me in, only for it to change once I arrived. When I mentioned the original quote, the stylist refused to honor it, saying the owner must have been “sleepy.” She was also unable to articulate why the price was different, which made the situation even more unprofessional. I am not someone who causes scenes, so I paid and left, but I was extremely disappointed by the poor management and lack of professionalism throughout the process. I had hopednthis would become my new go to salon but based on this experience, I cannot recommend this salon.”
